NPS
Shoes Ltd was founded in 1881, at the height of the industrial
revolution, as one of the worlds original footwear manufacturers. The
company was formed as a workers cooperative, Northamptonshire
Productive Society, and was the oldest of its type in the UK up until
2006. Although no longer a cooperative the employees and craftsmen
maintain the original skills and ethics dating back over 125 years.NPS
are specialists in the production of high quality street fashion,
industrial and safety footwear and since our inception, we have been
producing shoes and boots for all types of user. We are constantly
updating our styles and ranges and have recently returned to our roots
manufacturing two new ranges, 'Town and Country' and 'Heritage',
manufactured with genuine 'Goodyear welted' leather and rambler soles.
We
are manufactures of the famous 'Solovair' heat sealed brand, which
includes the incredibly comfortable 'Air Cushion' technology. We also
manufacture our own range of stitched through footwear under the NPS
brand.
We assemble our footwear
using the authentic 'Goodyear
Welt' construction that offers the utmost
in strength, flexibility, comfort and durability.
We
owe much of our success to our select group of customers who still
believe that British is best, relying on us for our quality,
adaptability and our acceptance of even the smallest quantity orders.
In 1960 NPS were commissioned by Bill Griggs to
make a brand new boot designed by Dr Marten with a bouncing sole. The
very first 'Dr Marten' boot came off the production line at the NPS
factory on the 1st of April 1960. NPS have been making this same boot for over 50 years.
