It’s been quite a year, this 2018. A lot of really good music has come out and there has been a lot of really good albums that are classified as "Punk” or "Pop-Punk” and I have loved a ton of them. But sometimes I just want an album that makes me want to run around in a circle and get all that aggression out.

As I have mentioned in prior articles, I love the Street Punk genre. It’s fast, it’s loud, it’s angry, and it’s punk in your goddamn fucking face. Sniper 66 really delivers with their newest album, Annihilator. I have been sitting on this review for awhile but I have found myself blasting this album whenever I have had a frustrating day. It’s one of the cleanest yet raw albums I have heard this year.

The songs themselves are pretty melodic vocally and are on the Oi influenced side of Street Punk, comparable to Oxymoron or The Virus. The energy and drive behind the songs remind me more of bands like Krum Bums.

The first and title track off the album starts with a clever bassline buildup. Quickly followed by bright aggressive guitars, the song rears back and goes into a full on gallop. The next track, "Fight Together,” keeps up the pace and energy well. The tight backups will make your arm twitch upward to throw your fist up, even though you are just sitting alone in your car. Slick guitar licks like in songs "Epidemic” and "In His Grave” are also very memorable.

Annihilator is a very dynamic album, taking you on a ride with varying tempos, while keeping it consistently fast and aggressive. Sniper 66 does a good job showing off their assets, using each member’s talents in spots that let them shine well.

I would recommend this album to anyone that is into Street Punk even a little bit. You’ll wanna throw on your leather jacket and shine up your shit kickers for this one.
